| Cumbuco Kiteboarding Holidays with OzoneTravel |
|
Cumbuco is a small fishing village about 30 km north of Fortaleza, in the state of Ceara, and is, essentially, the starting point for any kiteboarding holiday in Brazil! (There are many amazing places south of Fortaleza and north of Cumbuco, too!) From Cumbuco, it is an easy downwind run - by car or by kite! - to Cauipe, Pecem, Taiba, Fleicheras, Prea and Jericoacoara.
There is one main road running through Cumbuco, so it's quite easy to get around! Cumbuco is surrounded by incredible dunes, palm trees and flat water lagoons, which make the scenery nothing less than spectacular!
There is good, inexpensive food to be found (think ahead, though; the service can, at times, be painfully slow!), as well as cool little beachfront bars and pizza restaurants! Seafood is the specialty, and is fresh and oh-so-delicious! Finish your downwind run at Lagoa do Cauipe and pop in to the small barraca on the shore, where the resident fisherman (and his family!) will prepare you an amazing seafood delight!
***Please remember that visitors from most countries require a visa to enter Brazil. Ozone Travel Kiteboarding can help you with your visa - please contact us for details! |

| Kiteboarding experience in Cumbuco |
The kiteboarding experience in and around Cumbuco is probably one of the best in the world! Conditions are kite-able virtually year 'round, but is best and most reliable from June - the end of November. Even during the rainy season, February-June, you can expect 3/7 kiting days, although with sightly bigger kites than are required in the "windy' season.
Cumbuco boasts the starting point of some of the best, most incredible downwinders you can ever experience. The waves are beautiful and fun... and run for miles and miles, or kilometres and kilometres, whichever you prefer! If you plan on returning to Cumbuco, you must either have a 4x4 or make arrangements ahead of time for your return.
Of course, if flat water is your thing, it's available, too! There are lots of lagoons (lagoas), from small to quite large, scattered all about!
